I believe that gardens should be inspiring and uplifting places to be, as well as productive, functional and fun. I aim to design in a holistic way, incorporating sustainable practice, encouraging biodiversity and wildlife, and using a sensitive palette of materials appropriate to the site and its surroundings. I am inspired by the the wider landscape and firmly believe that access to green space and a close relationship with nature is fundamental to our wellbeing.
I love working outside, observing the changing seasons and cycles, and am happiest when I’m digging and planting, and watching new gardens come to life.

Our amazing garden is looking fabulous! The last two weekends we have had beautiful Saturdays with visits from friends with small children, 11 months and just 2 years and the babes have just been fascinated with the colours and the bees and the butterflies and the walkways. It has been simply delightful, literally hours of just pottering and smelling and looking
Country Garden
Rachel we’re just letting you know how delighted we are with the results of our redesigned back garden. Thanks for helping us every step of the way. Instead of our garden being ‘done’ for us, it has been a great shared experience
John and Sheila – Planting Plan
Working with Rachel has been such a pleasure. Rachel listened to what I wanted to achieve from my neglected walled garden and produced some excellent ideas and plans. I now have a garden that is a beautiful space to be in. Since the original design Rachel has worked with me on planting plans and developing further areas of the garden. Rachel’s enthusiasm is contagious, her knowledge covers so many areas and she is willing to research anything. I am looking forward to continuing working with her on new projects

I have always enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Over the last fifteen years my work has evolved from offering garden maintenance services and horticultural advice, to landscape design drawings, planting plans and consultancy. I love working outside, observing the changing seasons and cycles, and I am happiest when I’m outside digging and planting, and watching new gardens come to life.
I am passionate about plants and I’m constantly discovering new plants and new ways to combine them. Every design project is a rich learning experience and over the years I have built an extensive knowledge of plants and where to source them, from local nurseries to specialist online suppliers.
I work closely with my clients to translate ideas and aspirations into thoughtful design layouts and planting schemes. Services range from complete masterplans to renovating neglected corners and creating new borders.
