The show garden represented a tiny urban balcony, courtyard or pavement frontage, and aimed to demonstrate how even the smallest space can be packed with plants and create an antidote to the hardscape, noise and pollution of busy city streets. The design was intended to be flexible and affordable, and the structures and containers used were sourced from secondhand shops in and around Leeds. The project was great fun and I was thrilled to receive a Premier Gold Award.
