Garden Design and Consultancy

My Ethos

I believe that gardens should be inspiring and uplifting places to be, as well as productive, functional and fun. I aim to design in a holistic way, incorporating sustainable practice, encouraging biodiversity and wildlife, and using a sensitive palette of materials appropriate to the site and its surroundings. I am inspired by the the wider landscape and firmly believe that access to green space and a close relationship with nature is fundamental to our wellbeing.

speech

I love working outside, observing the changing seasons and cycles, and am happiest when I’m digging and planting, and watching new gardens come to life.

Background

I have always enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Over the last fifteen years my work has evolved from offering garden maintenance services and horticultural advice, to landscape design drawings, planting plans and consultancy. I love working outside, observing the changing seasons and cycles, and I am happiest when I’m outside digging and planting, and watching new gardens come to life.

I am passionate about plants and I’m constantly discovering new plants and new ways to combine them. Every design project is a rich learning experience and over the years I have built an extensive knowledge of plants and where to source them, from local nurseries to specialist online suppliers.

I work closely with my clients to translate ideas and aspirations into thoughtful design layouts and planting schemes. Services range from complete masterplans to renovating neglected corners and creating new borders.
